Remnants of the past, reminding everyone how powerful nature is!

Cagsawa Ruins is always a part of every trip in Legaspi City in Albay.  It is always a site for photos and has always been a must for tourists.

from the main road you will see this landmark

Entrance fees are collected at the gate. It only costs Php10

the other part of the church, behind bell tower

When to go:
It’s nice to visit the ruins around 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm where the sun sets.
It’s nice to have photos taken with the backdrop of the Ruins and Mayon Volcano (you can also see the beauty of the cone shaped Mayon Volcano from here) with the nicest colors of the clouds during the sunset.

How to get there:
Take a jeep bound for Guinobatan or Camalig. Tell the driver to drop you off at Cagsawa Ruins. Once you are dropped off, you will have to take a tricycle (P7 each) to the site itself.

There are little boys or photo vendors (selling volcano eruption photos of the past) that offers trick shot for the visitors. E.g. Jumping as high as the Cagsawa Ruins. Eating the tip of the Ruins and a lot more. But I ought not to avail this service and took the photos myself, I wanted to share the beauty of the place my own eye  🙂 .

Ginataang tambakol, love it!

There are stores selling refreshments and snacks inside.

there are various shops selling different souvenir but I recommend that you buy on Legazpi Public Market because the price is way way cheaper

After visiting the ruins, just outside the exit are the pile of souvenire shop. Make sure to grab one! Any kind! 🙂 From t-shirts to figurines.

Near the entrance, this seems to be another ruins of a building but not part of the church
