BACKPACKING SOUTH CEBU: 4D/3N ITINERARY AND BUDGET

This post will feature our last travel for the year 2016, our feet took us to the “Queen City of the South” CEBU.  We are so fortunate to have a good weather during our trip.  But we are sad to hear from the locals that due US Embassy announcement about the terrorist attack the number of International Tourist decrease, as we know December is the tourist peak season. But I guarantee you readers, there is no truth about this news, Cebu is definitely safe.  The locals are friendly and always willing to help you. On our 4 days of stay we could tell you that the towns as well as the city is peaceful.

Day 1 –MOALBOAL  (Pescador Island, Turtle Sanctuary, Panagsama Beach)

From Cebu City: Ride a bus bound to Bato via Barili in South Bus Terminal, alight in Moalboal town proper and ride a tricycle or motorcycle to your designated resort. Alternative to bus are UV Express/vans in One Citilink Terminal just near South Bus Terminal. UV Express/vans are faster than the bus. It’s around 2 hours travel time.

Bus fare is around PhP 115.00, while UV Express is PhP 100.00
Tricycle fare  (special) range around PhP 60.00 – 100.00 per trip,  or if you are good in haggling the regular fare is PhP10.00

Most of its shoreline was blown away by a typhoon in 1984 , now Panagsama is famous for it’s scuba diving and almost all the dive shops are located here. Alternatively if you wanted to experience the sand and sunbathe White Beach is just a tricycle away.

0500 Arrival at Mactan International airport. Take the taxi going to Cebu South Bus terminal

Tip: In order to save a few bucks, instead of taking the yellow airport taxi with flag down rate of 70 php, walk past the arrival area exit and cross the street towards the next building past the railings are steps leading to ordinary taxi bay. The flag down rate is 40 php. It cost us 170 pesos.

0530 Ride Bus to South Cebu (3-4hrs travel). At SCBT (South Cebu Bus Terminal) take the bus with signage Bato via Barili.
